Plan ahead. Before you get on a highway, know your exit by name and number, and watch the signs as you near the off-ramp. Drivers making unexpected lane changes to exit often cause accidents.

Always make sure to slow down long before a complete stop is necessary. Other motorists do not realize how long it takes for a big rig to come to a full stop, so seeing the brake lights early will help to avoid a collision.
