 My name is Sean Kiaer currently on hiates from long haul driving to concentrate on my family.

I am also the president of a grass roots orginization called Trucker Weather Watch. Trucker Weather Watch began a few years back when I was witness to a tornado hit a small town and killing several members of the community including several children. It made me angry that the warnnings did not go out sooner and I at the time was basicly helpless to do anything. I did call 911 and report it to the operator but she did not know who to call other than notify her EMS personel. The Sirens did not go off untill about 3 minuites before the tornado hit the town. I then heard on the radio later that day in another location that spotter activation was required.

I got to thinking what does spotter activation mean so I started doing resarch and learned that the spotters were NWS SKYWARN Spotters. I want to get involved. so I started doing research and learned that at the time most NWS offices require there spotters to take an in person training class that takes about an hour and a half. So I contacted my home office and got the schedule for spotter training. Wouldn't you know it I had just missed one and was scheduled to head out the day before the next class. Now this made me even more frusterated. S I got to thinking (What do truck drivers do with most of there time while driving, LOL)  about what I could do to make a difference. So one day I called the Bill Mack Show on XM171 and put the call out. And the response was overwhelming.Shortly there after Trucker Weather Watch was born. I put together links from the NWS for training and talking with the NWS and Seince the inception of Trucker Weather Watch we are now a recognized Partner Orginization to the NWS Skywarn Program. What kind of things do I enjoy.

Well first and formost are my Children They are number one in my life. I also enjoy a number of other things like Sailing, Downhill, Cross Country and Water Skiing, Sailing Camping, Fishing and studing weather and of course anything that has to do with the outdoors.
